News Release: August 2015

The Belfast Telegraph Holiday World Show is on course for a new destination in 2016.

Over the weekend of Friday 15 – Sunday 17 January the show which is Northern Ireland’s largest and best supported annual celebration of travel and tourism will be unpacking its unique blend of attractions, exhibitions and entertainment in the all-new Titanic Exhibition Centre in the heart of Belfast’s Titanic Quarter.

The new 6,000 square metre venue is situated on Queen’s Road, neatly positioned between the iconic Goliath crane at Harland & Wolff and the Titanic Studios where the global hit fantasy series Game of Thrones is filmed.  The mammoth 120 metre-long facility with capacity for up to 20,000 visitors and 300 exhibitors is on track to open its doors in early autumn. The building work has taken a crucial step forward as 630 tonnes of concrete has just been poured to form the floor of the new building.

Looking forward to the change of venue for Holiday World, the Caravan & Motorhome Show and the 50+ Village show-within-a-show, Maureen Ledwith, Director of Holiday World, said, “Titanic Quarter is one of the world’s largest urban-waterfront regeneration projects: a vibrant, exciting and heritage-filled place in which to live, work and socialise. We’re thrilled to be bringing our annual event to this amazing destination, right in the heart of Belfast. The great, central location means that it will be easier than ever before for visitors to access our show, while the new, purpose-built Titanic Exhibition Centre creates a fresh, modern backdrop for our show.

“The pristine new surroundings of the Titanic Exhibition Centre with their airy, contemporary layout and facilities will, clearly, be attractive to our visitors, but the advantages of a highly accessible, central location teamed with state of the art modernity is already creating considerable interest amongst local, national and international exhibitors.  Many of the potential exhibitors we have been speaking to are fascinated to learn that the new venue is so close to Titanic Belfast, the world’s largest Titanic visitor experience, and they are eager to see that at first hand! Already bookings are flying in and we look forward to celebrating our 24th Holiday World Belfast in a new location, with many new exhibitors as well as old friends.”

Importantly the move to the new venue has allowed the exhibition organisers to hold costs at 2015 levels so that exhibitors and visitors alike can enjoy maintained value.

The 2016 show will feature an expanded 50+ focus, reflecting the huge growth and buying power of that market sector, while the Caravan & Motorhome Show which has traditionally been a hugely popular attraction will have room to expand and showcase more models to more advantage.  At its heart, the central Holiday World show will bring together everything from home holidays and mini escapes to city breaks, family vacations, cruises and long haul travel.

Maureen says, “Standing on the site this week I was able to see, almost at a single glance, travellers heading off by road and rail, aircraft jetting off to sunnier climes and a fantastic ocean liner docked just across the harbour from Titanic Exhibition Centre.  What a wonderful new location for Northern Ireland’s favourite holiday show!”

Holiday World, Friday 16 – Sunday 18 January 2015, King’s Hall Pavilion, Belfast

The Australian jungle was just that bit steamier this year, thanks to the presence of handsomely sultry Jake Quickenden – and this week he’ll be making temperatures rise once more as he officially opens the 23rd Holiday World Show at the King’s Hall in Belfast (1.00pm on Friday 16 January).
Good looks, cheeky charm and an endearingly easy-going manner combined to help Jake finish runner-up in the fourteenth series of ITV hit reality show I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!  The  25-year-old , tipped for the top in show biz, is no stranger to reality tv, having made his debut on The X Factor in 2012, when he was edged out of the competition after closely losing out at Judge Nicole Scherzinger’s house.   Not one to give up easily, the determined and driven star decided to re-audition for the 2014 series, and he made it right through to the Live Shows before he set off on his whirlwind Aussie adventure.
This week he’ll be sharing stories of his Australian trip with visitors to
the annual Belfast Telegraph Holiday World show which is about to fill the King’s Hall Pavilion with all that’s up and coming for the 2015 travel scene … and perhaps Jake will be getting some inspiration for his next jet-setting adventure from the hundreds of exhibitors at the ever-popular event.

Belfast Telegraph Holiday World Prepares to Unwrap Great Holiday Presence at King’s Hall

January is traditionally the time for travel companies to unwrap their latest dream destinations and vacation value packages. For Northern Ireland’s would-be travellers, the big holiday presence will be at the annual Belfast Telegraph Holiday World show which will pack the King’s Hall Pavilions with all that’s up and coming for the 2015 travel scene.

The show will bring a dash of globe-trotting excitement to the city over the weekend of Friday 16 – Sunday 18 January, showcasing amazing getaways from close to home and from the four corners of the world as well as providing show-goers with a dazzling array of travel-themed entertainment, competitions, activities and special offers. The Caravan & Motorhome Show will feature the latest models, from modest tourers right up to state of the art luxury, with a chance for show-visitors to step on board to check out the detail, while the Oasis Travel Cruise Pavilion and the Clubworld Honeymoon & Wedding Destinations will help your holiday dreams to come true.

The big names just keep on coming: at the Oasis Travel Cruise Pavilion you’ll find partners including the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, Azamara Cruises, Celebrity Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, Titan Travel, Fred Olsen Cruise Lines, Princess Cruises, A-ROSA River Cruises, Scenic Tours, Emerald Waterways, P&O Cruises, and Cunard Cruise Line, while major travel sector partners at the Clubworld Pavilion will include Classic Collection Holidays, Eurocamp Travel, Gold Medal Travel, Jet2 Holidays, Topflight Holidays, Travel2 and Turkish Airlines.

With new exhibitors including The Belfast International Airport and tourism bodies for destinations diverse as China, Oklahoma, Kansas, Canada, North Cyprus, Andalucia and Antalya joining ‘old friends’ such as New York, United Airlines, Malta, Cyprus, Tunisia and India (doubling its stand size for this year’s show),  there’s a mighty mix at Holiday World.  Variety is clearly central to its ongoing success but, according to organizer Maureen Ledwith, value is also a key theme for the 2015 event.

She says, “Everyone knows that shopping around can really pay off and at Holiday World they can tackle their comparison shopping in a single location and with expert advice immediately available.  Show-goers enjoy the relaxed, friendly atmosphere of Holiday World, and they love the fact that we bring some of the world’s most desirable destinations right here to Belfast, but today most people tend to be hard-headed about holiday bookings and one of the big attractions of the show is the great value they find here, with keen prices, special show promotions and complementary extras to make a holiday break extra-special.”

Great value doesn’t always mean low cost. Many of those who visit Holiday World come in expectation of making a major investment, whether that will be a luxury vacation to celebrate one of life’s landmark occasions or, perhaps, the purchase of a caravan or motorhome.  Maureen Ledwith says, “If you are planning to invest in the holiday of a lifetime or in a motorhome, caravan or holidayhome which you hope will provide a lifetime of vacations for you and your family, then it is really important to find the option that best suits your individual needs.  Checking out the options and spending time talking with the experts can save you considerable sums and can help you to make the right choices.”

The sheer diversity of destinations on offer is a globe-trotters’ dream, but Holiday World will feature an incredible selection of holidays closer to home: some longstanding favourites will be represented but look out for lesser known gems too.  Maureen says, “Our Home Holidays section has been expanded still further for 2015 with some brilliant value breaks and family holiday offers on value in stunning locations.  Whether your ideal home holiday is a relaxing escape, an adventure challenge, a shop-till-you drop citybreak, a cultural odyssey or a family break you may just be surprised at the potential on your own doorstep … or just a hop, skip and a jump away.”

This year’s Holiday World show will pack an extra punch for the over fifties with its new 50+Village – a select group of exhibitors with a particular focus on the needs and interests of an age group which has been gaining in importance and market share in recent years,  as Maureen Ledwith explains.

“Almost a third of the Northern Ireland population is aged 50+.  They are less likely than other age groups to be tied down to working 9-to-5 … they aren’t coping with school or child-minding costs and routines … and they have probably paid off their mortgages … these are the people therefore who are most likely to have extra financial freedom and the time to enjoy life.  Many already take full advantage of off-season travel bargains and we know from all our experiences with Holiday World that travel is important to them.  Now, with our new 50+Village they’ll be able to check out some great offers and deals specially targeting their age and interests, covering leisure and lifestyle as well!”

For everyone at the 2015 show there will be an opportunity to indulge a taste for travel, whenever and wherever you want to go.  From holidays at home to chic citybreaks’ from high end cruises, bespoke long haul tours, deluxe holidays to boutique breakaways … it all starts with a journey to the King’s Hall Pavilions this January.

The Belfast Telegraph Holiday World Show runs in the King’s Hall Pavilions, Belfast from 1pm to 9pm on Friday 16 January and from 11am to 5.30pm on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 January 2015. Tickets are £5 for adults; £4 for seniors and £3 for students, and £10 for a family ticket (2 adults and up to 4 children).  To find out more about the show and its exhibitors and get in holiday mood visit

Royal Designer has Designs on Travel for Show Opening
Royal Designer David Emanuel Opens Holiday World Belfast
1pm, Friday 17th January 2014, King’s Hall Pavilions, Belfast

David Emanuel_RESIZED_credit_Rankin

One of the world’s leading fashion designers will have designs on travel this month as he officially opens Holiday World Belfast at the King’s Hall Pavilions.

David Emanuel whose name will for ever be linked with the glorious gown worn by Princess Diana on her wedding day, went on to design clothes for members of British and European Royal families and for some of the World’s most beautiful women.  He was recently runner up in the ratings-busting ‘I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here’.  Now, fresh from the jungles of deepest Australia, he is jetting into Belfast to share his stylish taste in travel … and perhaps pick up a few tips and bargains from the assembled experts.

At 1.00pm on Friday January 17th David will wield his dressmaking shears to cut the ribbon and officially open the twenty-second Holiday World Belfast show.

Show organiser Maureen Ledwith is delighted to have secured the presence of the globe-trotting celeb to launch the 2014 show with a touch of designer style.  She says, “We’re all about showcasing what is new and ‘happening’  on the local, national and international travel scene and we’re looking forward to welcoming a visit by someone who is,amongst his other roles, a well known commentator on social trends.”

For the tens of thousands of visitors who will flock to the 22nd Holiday World Belfast show over 17, 18 and 19 January, the holiday mood will start as they step into the King’s Hall Pavilions.  From caravans and cruising; from short breaks to long haul and from low cost to high end luxury, it’s all here.

Maureen says, “For most people holidays and getaway breaks are highpoints of the year, bringing the opportunity to relax and recharge and enjoy precious time with family and friends.  Despite economic pressures, holidays have remained a priority over the years and, now that we are beginning to see indications that recovery may be on the horizon, we’re expecting interest – and bookings – to really take off.

“This year the travel trade is geared up to tempt us with some incredible offers as show-goers look for ways to make their holiday pound go further.   This year they will be tempted by special show offers, discount deals and added value options.  They will also have the chance to check out some of the world’s emerging new destinations as well as re-discovering firm favourites.  There are even opportunities to win some great holiday prizes.”

Changing fashions in holidays are well reflected across the show with increasing numbers of city breaks on offer plus vacations specially targeting the Over 55s – very much a growth sector.  The trend to mark special moments in life – such as birthdays, anniversaries and retirements – is also evident.  There are wonderful, romantic ideas to be discovered at the Clubworld Travel Honeymoons & Weddings Destinations Pavilion, while the Oasis Travel Cruise Pavilion & Holiday Village will present a fabulous range of holidays afloat as well as hosting presentations by international experts in its own Lecture Theatre.

2014 also sees the largest ever Caravan & Motorhome Show – very much a show-within-a-show.  This is a sector which is growing at fantastic pace as many people choose to invest in a purchase which will guarantee holidays for them and their families for many years to come.

Discover a Whole New World at the Belfast Telegaph Holiday World

The Belfast Telegraph Holiday World Show returns to the King’s Hall Pavilions, Belfast from Friday 17th January to Sunday 19th January 2014, offering a wide range of holiday inspiration and advice and how to get value for money when booking.

For twenty-two years the spectacular show has been banishing the winter blues by bringing to Belfast all the coming attractions for a year of travel…and all under one roof.

According to Maureen Ledwith who has been shaping the show right through an incredible quarter of a century, the holiday mood has to start at the main doors of the King’s Halls Pavilions.

She says, “For most people holidays and getaway breaks are highpoints of the year, bringing the opportunity to relax and recharge and enjoy precious time with family and friends.  Despite economic pressures, holidays have remained a priority over the years and, now that we are beginning to see indications that recovery may be on the horizon, we’re expecting interest – and bookings – to take off.

“In 2014 value will continue to be a key business driver so visitors to Holiday World can expect to pick up some real bargains and some very special added-value deals.”

One of the new exhibitors who’ll be attending the show for the first time is Botswana.  Show goers can look forward to finding out what a mokoro ride is and while discovering lots of other exotic delights from this destination that is famed for its safaris, diamonds and beef, to name only a few of its treasures!

Over the years a number of zones have popped up at show, each dedicated to a popular specialist area of travel, responding to trends the local travel industry has experienced.

The success of last year’s introduction of a Honeymoon & Wedding Destinations Pavilion means Clubworld Travel will be bringing their partners back to once again provide a one-stop-shop for those looking to avail of expert advice for trips surrounding such special occasions and luxury travel.   Already on board are Etihad, Jet2 Holidays, Topflight and Classic Collection Holidays, Caribtours and Elegant Hotels.

A zone has also been established in recent years that specialises in cruises.  The addition of the Oasis Travel Cruise Pavilion & Holiday Village has proved to be a major draw for the show and responds to the growth in popularity of cruise holidays.  The top cruise brands from around the globe are brought to the show to provide first-hand advice and presentations of what you can expect from each cruise company. You can expect to find representation from a vast range of leading cruise suppliers, including Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, Fred Olsen, Titan, Carnival Cruises and MSC Cruises.

Exhibitors will be spoilt for cruising choice as this year’s show as Odyssey Travel will also be hosting two cruise companies who’ll be attending the Show for the first time: Seabourn Cruise Line and Holland America Cruise Line.

Of course, the ever popular Caravan & Motorhome Show has become been an important and long-standing element of Holiday World.  This area of the show is full of ideas for those who enjoy the great outdoors.  It’s the perfect place to browse and find out more about the latest, state-of-the-art Caravans and Motorhomes and what it’s like on this type of holiday.

Maureen adds, “The exhibitors in the Caravan and Motorhome Show, in particular, love meeting anyone who has never experienced this type of holiday before.  They are only too happy to show you around their motorhomes and caravans and they’ll no doubt pass on their travelling tips and tales along the way too! This section’s popularity is probably driven by the flexibility that this type of holiday offers, where you can literally pack up the comforts of home and go wherever you want, when you want.”

The USA is another large attraction that made Holiday World organisers set up an area specifically for this region. American Holidays, Orlando, United Airlines, New York City and The Beacon Hotel will all be attending.

Spain, notorious as a popular destination for local holiday makers, will also be well represented.  Salou, PortAventura and Castellon have already confirmed that they are on board to attend to offer their sunny advice.

Holiday World 2014 runs in the King’s Hall Pavilions, Belfast from 1pm to 9pm on Friday 17 January and from 11am to 5.30pm on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 January. Admission is £5 for adults, £4 for senior citizens, £3 for students, and £10 for a special family ticket (2 adults and up to 4 children).

Holiday World Belfast lights up the King’s Hall Complex
18 – 20 January 2013

The winter weather can do its worst but at the King’s Hall in Belfast the annual Belfast Telegraph Holiday World show will be bringing an early ray of sunshine to sweep away the New Year Blues.

From Friday 18th to Sunday 20th January thousands of people will flock to Northern Ireland’s biggest travel and tourism show with one thought in mind: how to get more and pay less!

Whether we’re planning the ultimate luxury cruise, dream honeymoon, annual family vacation or even a weekend escape it seems that Northern Ireland’s holidaymakers are value- as well as quality-conscious.

Show organiser, Maureen Ledwith says; “The economic stresses and strains of recent years have certainly made their mark, but people in Northern Ireland still regard their holidays as highpoints of the year. Show-goers tell us that holidays are more than an enjoyable break from routine: they also provide valuable opportunities for couples and families to have quality time together – which, in these hectic times, is something worth investing in!”

When it comes to investing in luxury travel, Northern Ireland is high on the travel agents’ ‘league table’. High end cruises, bespoke long haul tours, de luxe holidays and boutique breakaways all find a ready market here – and, when it comes to special occasions such as weddings, honeymoons or special anniversaries most of us are prepared to save hard to buy that coveted slice of easy living!

At Holiday World Show however the secret of success lies in variety and the claim that ‘there’s something for everyone’ has never been more true. Maureen Ledwith says, “The professionals at the coal face of tourism have to offer fantastic variety if they want to capture sales and, in the current economic climate, keen prices and added value extras are also vital. This is a hugely competitive sector and potential holidaymakers know that shopping around will pay off.

“At Holiday World would-be holidaymakers can do all that comparison in a single location and in a relaxed atmosphere. They know that they will see some of the best that the world has to offer, all brought right here to Belfast. We’ll have experts on hand ready to give advice and there are some amazing special offers, not-to-be-missed promotions, entertainment and exclusive competitions. It’s also a great day out for all the family – and a welcome reminder that Spring and Summer are just around the corner!”

An all-new Honeymoon & Wedding Destinations Pavilion will be a welcome addition to the 2013 travel fair, complementing the ever-popular Cruise Pavilion that has now established itself as a major draw of the Show.

Maureen says, “This year we’ll have all the romance of ‘far pavilions’ … we’ll be in the new Pavilion venue at the King’s Hall Complex and we’ll have not one, but three, very special Pavilions within Holiday World itself, showcasing some fantastic holidays right around the globe. Even better, those offers at the Cruise Pavilion, the Honeymoon & Wedding Destinations Pavilion and the fantastic USA Pavilion will suit almost every taste and budget.

Variety and value will be a key focus for all exhibitors at the 2013 show, with stand holders each bringing a taste of their unique locations to the King’s Hall. Amongst the specially featured countries this year will be India, Israel, Tunisia, Turkey, Malta and Cyprus, but Maureen is quick to point out the attractions of holidays nearer to home too.

She says,”From Irish waterways and getaway offers across Ireland to fabulous destinations in Scotland, England and Wales, it’s all here. We’re also strong this year on coach tours which are a carefree and relaxed choice for holidaymakers who want a hassle-free break. Over 55s will find that there are some especially good bargains and opportunities just for them … while the traditional family holiday to Ireland, Britain, Europe and beyond is celebrated as never before!”

A major attraction at the annual Holiday World is the Caravan & Motorhome Show where visitors will find a dazzling array of the latest looks, from modest tourers right up to state of the art luxury. Maureen says; “Don’t be afraid to ask the experts in the Caravan and Motorhome Show lots of questions if you are new to this type of holiday. They can show you around the vehicles, give you professional travelling tips – and I’m sure you’ll also hear some adventurous tales about life on the road! This has been our biggest growing section in recent years; it seems more and more people want to experience the advantages of a holiday where you can literally take the comforts of home with you.”

Belfast Telegraph Holiday World 2013 runs in the King’s Hall Complex, Belfast from 1pm to 9pm on Friday 18 January and from 11am to 5.30pm on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 January. Admission is £6 for adults, £4 for senior citizens, £3 for students, and £12 for a family pass (2 adults and up to 4 children). From Benidorm to Belfast…Actress Crissy Rock to open Holiday World Belfast

Actress and comedian Crissy Rock will ‘check in’ to the King’s Hall, Belfast at 1pm on Friday 20 January to perform the official opening ceremony of Holiday World Belfast – Northern Ireland’s biggest annual public showcase of travel, tourism and hospitality (20th – 22nd January.)

Crissy is sure to be a popular attraction, from her recent stint on the TV show I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here, at the end of last year. Many will also know her from her role as Janey York in the popular TV series Benidorm.

The actress, who recently endured 19 days in the Australian jungle, will no doubt be looking for a bit of rest and relaxation herself…and she will be in good company with around 30,000 visitors expected over the show weekend.

Bargains Galore in Store at Belfast’s Holiday World

Despite gloomy economic predictions, for many, holiday expenditure remains sacrosanct. Even when the going gets tough, it seems the tough still plan holidays.

The annual family holiday, or even a well chosen short break, is arguably more important than ever before – a bright highlight in a budget-paring year – but, when it comes to choosing and paying for a vacation, value for money has rarely been more important. It can be hard to find ‘best value’, however, amongst the myriad of often confusing and conflicting offers on the High Street and on websites … which is perhaps why Holiday World Belfast has been such an enduring success.

The Belfast Show’s 20th Anniversary
Show owner and organiser Edmund Hourican says, “In 2012 we’ll be celebrating 20 years of Holiday World Belfast. While much has changed during that time, the event still provides would-be travellers with a hassle-free opportunity to find out about and compare destinations, airlines, travel agencies – and their prices.

“Today’s savvy travellers understand that ‘best value’ doesn’t necessarily mean ‘cheapest’. Rather, they are looking to find the products and services that best match their requirements. While visitors to Holiday World Belfast are typically prepared to invest in holidays – often heavily – they do want reassurance that they are making the right choices and getting the best deal. The fact that Holiday World is packed with special offers and discounts is a welcome extra bonus!”

Traditionally the show opens the Province’s holiday booking season and tens of thousands flock to the King’s Hall to check out what has become the biggest event of its kind in Northern Ireland. As you might expect, favourite destinations at home and abroad abound but this is also a favourite launching pad for new options and, in 2012 there will be no shortage of those on offer while The Caravan & Motorhome Show invariably showcases some of the latest, sleekest models to hit this buoyant market.

NEW Over 55s holiday Show

This year the all new event-within-an-event Over 55s Holiday Show will add an important new focus to Holiday World Belfast, as organiser Maureen Ledwith explains. “The over 55s are leading the way cross all holiday sectors and are a hugely important and fast growing target market for many of our exhibitors. They are investing in all sorts of travel options, from once in a lifetime destinations to special cruising to city breaks. This grouping loves its annual Summer vacation and is generally very well travelled and experienced when it comes to making astute bookings. Often over 55’s will have grown to love a particular country or region and will travel there regularly, while they are also enjoying more home holidays. This is also a great market for caravans and mobile homes with a huge number of over 55’s happy to make an investment that will provide them and their extended families with a holiday base for years to come.

“Since so many travel companies and destinations are eager to capture this growing slice of the market, there are loads of special deals on offer to attract over 55’s and that extra value will be very much in evidence at Holiday World Belfast.

Value for money entertainment

All three shows are the price of one and ticket prices have been held at Adults £6, Senior Citizens £4 and Students £3. There’s also a Special Family Price ticket for two Adults & up to four children – £12

The show itself will be packed with extra value deals for everyone with special bonus offers for those who actually make their booking at Holiday World. Even if you’re uncertain about where, when or even if you want to travel this year the show offers great entertainment in itself. Relax and enjoy fantastic free entertainment including dancing classes centred on our new Coffee Dock … grab some free, yummy goodies from our new sampling stands or brush up your knowledge with the travel experts … there’s a world of temptation and a chance to dream. There are so many competitions you might even get lucky and win that dream holiday!

Pavilions for Cruises and USA

Holiday World 2011 saw the launch by Oasis Travel of the Cruise Pavilion which brought together some of the biggest names in cruising and provided an enormously popular series of Cruise lectures suited to both the experienced ‘cruiser’ and those completely new to this style of holiday. In 2012 it will be back bigger, better and still more exciting than ever before.

The ‘Pavilion’ theme indeed proved so popular with show-goers that, this time around, there will be a new USA Pavilion in the main exhibition hall, opening the door to some amazing holiday opportunities Stateside. Edmund Hourican says, “For many years Florida has been one of the most popular destinations for Northern Irish holiday-makers, and the Pavilion has some fabulous breaks there, but it also introduces some less familiar but equally family-friendly destinations. From city-breaks in New York to surfing in California to pilgrimages to the home of country music in Nashville, it seems that America really does have something for every taste and that’s all reflected at the USA Pavilion.”

The mega destinations for 2012 and beyond

Visitors to Holiday World Belfast will certainly be dazzled by newcomers to the event such as Emirates – the UAE is celebrated not only as a year-round sunshine destination but also for its outstanding levels of service, home to some of the world’s most luxurious hotels. Exotic India is also an eye-catcher for those who like to travel a little further to experience a different culture, while Tunisia is fast becoming one of the Northern Irish travellers’ favourite destinations.

Maureen Ledwith says, “While new far flung destinations are becoming ever more popular, Europe retains its appeal for many show-goers with Spain, Malta, Tenerife and Cyprus all here in particular showing strength this year … but so too are destinations which are rather closer. From the Isle of Man to Scotland, England and Wales there are fantastic holidays to be had, particularly in the Olympics year and all within a very short travelling time …and the wealth of holiday opportunities rolling out across Ireland, North and South, is nothing short of amazing. You may feel you know already many of those destinations but each year there are fresh offers with new places, resorts and activities to explore and enjoy. Spain is a great example of that and visitors to the Spanish stand at Holiday World Belfast will be amazed at the variety that’s on offer in one of our all time favourite country destinations.

“There’s a whole big world to choose from and it feels that every corner will be represented at Holiday World 2012! A visit to the show should feel like stepping into the pages of a glossy travel brochure. so we know visitors will be inspired. The only problem is which to choose and that’s the one holiday dilemma we can’t answer for you!”

16th January 2013 :One of television’s favourite bad boys, Tom Lister, who played the ill-fated Carl King in ‘Emmerdale’ will be joining globe-trotting bargain hunters heading for the King’s Hall Complex in Belfast this weekend to check out the world of opportunities at the annual Belfast Telegraph Holiday World show.

Tom’s character, famously, got his ‘comeuppance’ when he was murdered in a special fortieth anniversary edition of the soap … exactly who dunnit is still up for speculation and will fuel still more excitement in future episodes!

Now Tom has a new role, officially opening Belfast Telegraph Holiday World at The King’s Hall Pavilion at 1.00pm on Friday 18th January.

The well known actor and enthusiastic traveller will cut the ribbon on Northern Ireland’s largest celebration of travel and tourism, now in its 21st year, is an escapists’ dream, showcasing breaks and vacations at home and abroad and hosting the Province’s biggest caravan and motorhomes show.

This year savvy travellers will discover a distinct focus on keen prices and added value, together with insider advice on a myriad of options.

Show organiser Maureen Ledwith says, “It can be very difficult to make your holiday choice from the myriad of options on the High Street and on websites …which, I think, is why Holiday World Belfast is such an enduring success. People know that the show brings those holiday brochures to life and they look forward to doing their comparison shopping in a single, fun-filled and stress-free location. Holiday World puts the fun into shopping around!

Despite the economic chill – or possibly because of it – it seems that most of us place a high value on getting away from it all. Maureen says, “This year we’re seeing value and variety combining and the result is an absolutely amazing range of holidays: truly something for everyone.

“The show will have an added freshness as it takes up its location in the new Pavilion venue at the King’s Hall Complex and we’ll have not one, but three, very special Pavilions within Holiday World itself, showcasing some fantastic holidays right around the globe. Even better, those offers at the Cruise Pavilion, the Honeymoon & Weddings Destinations Pavilion and the fantastic USA Pavilion will suit almost every taste and budget.

Amongst the exotic locations on show this year will be India, Israel, Tunisia, Turkey, Malta and Cyprus, jostling alongside destinations closer to home. Thousands of 2013 holidays will start right here at The King’s Hall.
